Attention Seniors & Senior Parents:
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, aka the FAFSAĀ®, is the single most important thing senior students can do to get money to help pay for college.
The FAFSA application opens on October 1st.
Itās the only way to apply for federal or state financial aid. The FAFSAĀ® will determine eligibility for grants, scholarships, work-study programs, and federal student loans.
Sallie Mae experts will be hosting a virtual event on Wednesday, October 5th at 7 PM to share helpful tips and information to help you complete the FAFSAĀ® application and find the money needed to pay for college.
Register for this event here by selecting the FAFSA Webinar: https://www.salliemae.com/college-planning/tools/virtual-events/

RHS Community:
It has been brought to our attention that some of our students are participating in and planning to participate in the act of vandalizing personal property during this Homecoming Week. We understand that these acts began as a harmless prank, however, the use of items such as ketchup, eggs, mayonnaise, and peanut butter are unacceptable and are damaging personal property.
The police department and Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office have been notified and are actively monitoring the situation. Anyone found guilty of these acts will be arrested and prosecuted for vandalism and trespassing.
Furthermore, if our students continue to participate in the vandalism of personal property, all Homecoming activities this week will be canceled.
We are asking all of our parents to please assist us in putting a stop to the senseless vandalism of personal property. We hope everyone thoroughly enjoys Homecoming Week, but we need everyone to act with dignity and respect for their community members and neighbors.
Thank you,
RHS Administration

Open House
Rayne High School would like to thank all of the students and parents who attended Monday night's Open House or who purchased a jambalaya dinner. Our turnout was amazing!
If you were unable to make it, our presentation with important information can be accessed at anytime on the homepage of our school website or at the following link: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1_1MD0N7Xb0AkYo9DdnnNcN3Ss71_m6S95cCqFysme4k/edit?usp=sharing
We would also like to give a HUGE thank you to the RHS PTO for hosting a very successful fundraiser and our sponsors for their contributions. The food was delicious, and with 130 tickets sold, they raised about $1300 for our students and our school! #RHSPTO

Here's something to feel good about on this Friday! š
At the end of last school year, the RHS Library Club donated 2 umbrellas for our outside commons area. Students have been enjoying the shade during lunch, and on good weather days, during class time.
If you'd like to donate to our Donors Choose Project to help us purchase umbrellas for the remaining 10 tables, you can do so here: https://www.donorschoose.org/project/getting-shade-not-throwing-it/6834042/?utm_source=dc&utm_medium=directlink&utm_campaign=teacherhub&utm_term=teacher_2943793&rf=directlink-dc-2022-09-teacherhub-teacher_2943793&challengeid=20589357

It's #ThrowbackThursday and we are honoring two of our former faculty members!
Mrs. Frances Doga was a library clerk at RHS for 19 years.
Mrs. Merella McFall served as our school secretary for 36 years.
These pictures were taken from our 1977 yearbook.
Sadly, Mrs. Doga passed away in July of 2019 and Mrs. McFall in May of this year.
Both of these women were incredible assets to our students, school, and community, and had extreme love and pride for Rayne High. We will forever remember them in purple and gold. šš
