Last week, students put their creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork to the test during our December STEM project in the library! Using the provided materials, students worked to design and build structures that could withstand a simulated winter challenge, experimenting with design, balance, and stability along the way.

The library was buzzing with collaboration, critical thinking, and plenty of trial and error as students tested their designs and refined their ideas. It was exciting to see them apply STEM concepts in a hands-on, engaging way while having fun learning outside of the classroom.

Thank you to all the students who participated and helped make this STEM activity a success. We love seeing the library come alive with innovation and creativity! 🧠✨

Our Physics students recently put their problem-solving and engineering skills to the test by completing an egg drop project, where they dropped their designs from different heights to see if their eggs would survive the impact. šŸš€šŸ„š

All groups successfully completed a 31-foot drop with a parachute attached to protect their egg. However, one group took on an even bigger challenge and dropped their egg from 31 feet with no parachute at all and it survived! šŸŽ‰

šŸ‘ Congratulations to Jude-Mikal D., Gavin F., and Keagan P. for being the only group whose egg made it through the 31-foot drop without a parachute. What an impressive accomplishment!

This hands-on project was a great example of critical thinking, creativity, and real-world physics concepts in action. Way to go, Wolves! šŸŗšŸ’œšŸ’›

Congratulations to Our November Reader of the Pack: Het P.! šŸŗšŸ“š

We are excited to celebrate Het P. as our Reader of the Pack for November! Het’s name was drawn from our monthly raffle, and he earned a $20 gift card to 2nd & Charles for his participation. šŸŽ‰šŸ“–

A huge thank-you to the RHS PTO for generously sponsoring this ongoing library program. Your support continues to fuel our students’ love of reading and keeps our library buzzing with excitement. šŸ’›šŸ’œ

About the Readers of the Pack Program:
Each time a student checks out a book during the month, their name is entered into a drawing. The raffle resets at the beginning of every month, giving all students a fresh start and another chance to win a $20 gift card. It is our way of celebrating and encouraging active, joyful reading across campus!

Help us congratulate Het on being November’s Reader of the Pack!

Ms. Richard’s US History students took on an exciting Great Depression escape room, working together to solve clues, analyze historical details, and crack the codes to open a series of locks. This hands-on activity challenged their critical thinking skills while making history engaging and interactive.

The room was full of energy and problem-solving, and even Mr. Roy couldn’t resist joining in on the action. šŸ—ļøšŸ“ššŸ”

Our Advanced Math students took their learning to the next level as they wrapped up their velocity unit with a hands-on car-building challenge. Working with a partner, students designed and built their own cars using creative materials such as bottles, bottle caps, rubber bands, straws, balloons, and other items that were not prebuilt or already functioning as cars.

Once their cars were complete, students put them to the test and then applied their math skills to analyze the results. They calculated the circumference of their wheels, angular velocity in radians per second, linear velocity in feet per minute, and linear velocity in miles per hour. This activity gave them a real-world way to see their learning in action and connect mathematical concepts to practical experimentation.

We love seeing our Wolves think critically, collaborate, and have fun while learning! šŸ“ššŸš—

Mrs. Cramer’s Biology I Honors students had an exciting and tasty lesson as they identified and labeled the parts of plant and animal cells by painting cookies to represent each structure. This creative activity helped students visualize cell components in a memorable and engaging way.

After completing their detailed cookie cells, students enjoyed their sweet treats as a reward for their hard work. Mrs. Cramer also welcomed some special guests from Coach Garrett’s class, who joined in on the learning fun and added even more excitement to the day! šŸŖšŸ”¬
