Texts with ParentSquare

Posted Date: 10/19/26 (09:00 AM)

Hello families,

Soon, some texts from our schools will come from 10-digit phone numbers. A 10-digit number looks like a regular phone number. Before, most texts came from a short code, which is a short phone number used only for texts.

The only change is the phone number you'll see. You'll still get texts the same way, and you can still reply by text to direct messages.

When a 10-digit number is first used for a conversation, ParentSquare sends a short introduction text. It tells you which teacher, staff member, school, or type of message the number is for. Here's an example:

Messages from R. Taylor will come from this ParentSquare number. Save it so you know who's texting. Try the app:

You don't need to do anything. Saving the number to your contacts is optional, but it helps your phone show who the text is from.

This change only affects texts and will happen in Acadia on October 21, 2026. The ParentSquare app and email work the same as before.

If you are not recieving messages, please contact your child's school and make sure your email and phone number is correct.
