flags in cemetery

Monday, May 30, 2022, is Memorial Day.  This U.S. federal holiday is observed on the last Monday of May to honor the men and women who have died while serving in the military

How we can OBSERVE...
Participate in a local ceremony.

If you cannot participate in a local ceremony, at 3 p.m., please take one minute to pause and reflect and remember those who lost their lives for our freedom.

What we can DO...
Show your appreciation and patriotism by having your flag prominently displayed on Memorial Day.
It is appropriate to fly it at half-staff on this day of remembrance.  Please take the time to read about how to display the American Flag to ensure you are showing the proper respect for our flag.  If you want to do more, visit your local memorial cemetery and leave flags at the grave markers of the soldiers buried there. We have so much to be thankful for these fallen heroes.

Military families are making a huge sacrifice for all of us, from parents raising children on their own while their spouses are deployed, to the many individuals spending years away from their families to put their lives on the line for us each and every day. Take a moment to give thanks to a military family you know.  Something as simple as a call or card to say thank you can mean so much.  A premade meal, or even a gift card to a restaurant or grocery store can brighten a family's day.
