The Acadia Parish School Board is accepting applications for membership on the newly created Special Education Advisory Council.

This council will meet three (3) times per year to provide advice and recommendations regarding special education policies, procedures, and resources.

The council will also engage in outreach activities to the community at large to increase the level of knowledge, support, and collaboration with respect to special education.

Members are being sought from the following stakeholder groups:

  • Parent or legal guardians of students with disabilities enrolled in Acadia Parish schools
  • Teachers, Principals, and Paraprofessionals employed by APSB

Members will be appointed by Scott Richard, Superintendent, and serve a two (2) year term.

To apply, please pick up an application at the Acadia Parish School Board office, 2402 North Parkerson Avenue, Crowley or print an application.

All applications must be returned in an envelope marked with Special Education Advisory Council - ATTENTION: Supt. Richard. The applications can be mailed to: P.O. Drawer 309, Crowley, LA. 70527-0309 or dropped off at the front desk of the Acadia Parish School Board Office between the hours of 8:00-4:30 p.m.

Applications are due no later than Friday September 17, 2021.
