DCFS will again be providing SUN bucks (Summer EBT). This will be a one-time distribution of $120 by DCFS. First distributions will be sometime in May. DCFS will determine eligibility for SUN bucks in the following ways:
1) Any children who received SNAP or Medicaid anytime between 7/1/25 and 8/20/26 AND whose date of birth is between August 20, 2007 and July 1, 2020 will automatically receive these benefits.
a. If you receive SNAP benefits - funds will be placed on your SNAP card
b. If you receive Medicaid ONLY - funds will go on last year’s SUN bucks card. (Pin for the card will be your child’s last 4 digits of their social) If you need a replacement card, you will need to request a new card. (See below)
2) All others will need to apply for benefits. You can submit applications at https://louisiana.summerebtapp.com.
