Regarding a district transition to a four day work week starting with the 2023-2024 school year, HERE is the updated calendar for the 2023-2024 school year.
Please note the following items of importance for your reference:
- The first day for students will be Monday, August 14, 2023. Students will attend school Monday through Friday the first three weeks of school. Mondays as the non-instructional day will start after the Labor Day holiday.
- Traditional holidays will be recognized for the 2023-2024 school year.
- The instructional day for all schools in the Acadia Parish School System will be based on a 440 minute school day. Individual school bell schedules will vary from school to school without extending the school day unreasonably.
- Acadia Parish Head Start programs will also shift to a four day work week based on the attached calendar.
