Beginning Tuesday, February 3, 2026, RHS will implement a new bell schedule to support our reading challenge.
Extended 1 Hour every day for 20 minutes dedicated to
silent sustained reading
*Seniors who leave early will need to adjust their
schedules accordingly beginning 2/3/26*
Daily Start and Dismissal Times will not be affected.
Supports our school wide plan by:
1) giving students additional opportunities to focus
on and improve literacy at the high school level
2) supporting student and faculty mental health
as studies show that reading can decrease
stress & anxiety, inspires imagination &
creativity and improves brain health & memory.
3) promotes school wide unity as all students
& faculty are simultaneously stopping to read
A Beanstack Reading grade will be taken in all ELA Classes.
Incentives and prizes to be awarded for meeting challenges!
