DCFS will again be providing SUN bucks (Summer EBT). This will be a one-time distribution of $120 by DCFS. First distributions will be sometime in May. DCFS will determine eligibility for SUN bucks in the following ways:
1) Any children who received SNAP or Medicaid anytime between 7/1/25 and 8/20/26 AND whose date of birth is between August 20, 2007 and July 1, 2020 will automatically receive these benefits.
a. If you receive SNAP benefits - funds will be placed on your SNAP card
b. If you receive Medicaid ONLY - funds will go on last year’s SUN bucks card. (Pin for the card will be your child’s last 4 digits of their social) If you need a replacement card, you will need to request a new card. (See below)
2) All others will need to apply for benefits. You can submit applications at https://louisiana.summerebtapp.com.

We are taking time this Fall to gather feedback from students, teachers, staff and families on how well we are doing as a district and how we can strengthen our plans moving forward.
Your voices as family members are essential to this effort. Therefore, I invite you to join a focus group where you can share your thoughts openly and honestly on this subject. The focus group will be managed by Attuned Education Partners and will be held on September 16th (5-6pm). If you are interested, please fill out this google form.
