FFA

About

The Future Farmers of American is the national organization for students studying agriscience in high schools throughout American. As an agriscience student, you could be a member of this club and be eligible to take part in its many activities. The purpose of FFA is to provide recreational activities for its members as well as educational activities for the development of leadership, character,  scholarship, and citizenship. Members take part in local, parish, district, area, and state contests in such areas as public speaking, parliamentary law, livestock judging, horticulture judging, floriculture judging, forestry judging, welding, small engines, electrical wiring, and tractor driving. FFA members at Crowley High School make many trips out of the community.  Some members attend the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky during the month of October; the State FFA Convention in Alexandria during the month of July; and the Made for Excellence Conference in Alexandria during the month of September.

Scholarship

Any high school student who is a member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA) is eligible to receive a $500 scholarship to any Louisiana community or technical college.  An additional one-time $1,000 scholarship will be available to FFA students who win state contests. To apply for this scholarship, the student must check a box when registering for college indicating they were an FFA member in good standing, then the system and FFA will do the rest for verification.
